Simply put the service was outstanding!!!!! Our first time there soooo welcoming and hospitable. From the Chef Shihaam to our waiter Muduleki the service rendered was superb. 0 complaints. Will definitely recommend and also visit very soon.

First time coming for the evening buffet on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday and my daughter's bachelor pass. The seating is on top of each other making the walking space very tight. Was expecting ribs but it was only chicken and beef.The bowels for the desert were warm so the ice cream would melt as you put it in the bowl making it like a milkshake consistency by the time you reached the table.

I didn't stay over but I had a beef burger and fries right after a cupping session at the hotel. It was fantastic! Great location as well if you're living or working in the CBD. Try both the cupping and burger afterwards. Thank you Cape Tonian Hotel.

Besides a few bugs in the room and intense traffic to get to the hotel, the interiors are really good and the staff are helpful. Might need a few more labels and signs to better navigate the floors (especially on the Ground level).

On my arrival there was absolutely no assistance with my luggage. I had to carry it all on my own. When I returned back at the hotel after a long day my card key was disabled so I could not enter my room.

I was hesitant to book but I have been to 70% of hotels in Cape Town.Place is worn down. Staff not friendly and even lights are broken.Only if you have to book then do so.See pics of room that looked terrible as carpet stained and fixtures broken.

We had our end of year function at the restaurant. The venue was lovely but the service was mediocre. People ordered beverages that never arrived. Wait-staff were reminded more than once. Buffet menu was disappointing. Beef curry meat was tough. Dessert options looked good but cakes were dry and had lots of artificial cream that was unpleasant.

When we got to the hotel, we were told the room wasn't ready, although check-in was from 14:00 and we got there just before 15:00. We were told by the receptionist it will take another 25 minutes and she will let us know. After almost 40 minutes, we had to go again to the check in desk to query how long it's going to take till we are shown our room. The 2nd lady that assisted was more professional and came back to inform us the room was done but none of the cleaning staff updated the system. When we finally got to the room, the mat was dirty with stains all over. I will not recommend this hotel to any business associates or family.

Talking about good service.. excellent staff.. delicious Breakfast and a delicious buffet..You can book as a guest and outsider..Coffee and tea are free, government water as well.. Buffet starts at 6*30 pm until 10pm had a lovely time.. strictly Halal R285 pp and no 10% tip from your bill..

My bathroom reeked of mold, there were bugs in the room, the room was old and had nasty stains on the carpet. We asked for the iron and ironing board and the ironing board was broken. We asked for a different room amd they sent us to an even worse room with a dirty bath tub. Walls were stained, bedding was not clean. I just wouldn't recommend it, period.

The pictures on bookings.com and on the website were stunning, but the reality was a letdown. The lack of attention to detail was alarming, from the haphazard repairs to the subpar cleanliness.We had to switch rooms three times before settling for one that still had its own issues. The carpets were stained, and the bathroom had an unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, the rooms are outdated and show significant signs of wear. The showers, in particular, had visible mould growth, which was concerning.It's clear that the owners have lost interest in investing in the hotel, which is a shame given its potential.If you're accustomed to staying in hotels, I would strongly advise against booking a room at The Capetonian. However, the restaurant is worth visiting. Perhaps it's best to enjoy their dining services while avoiding the subpar accommodations.For a stickler for cleanliness and organization, or if you have OCD, trust me when I say you'll want to steer clear of.

The room is spacious. I stayed in level 12, so it has balcony which can see the Table Mountain from my room. It is very goos view.Room was serviced every day.Breakfast was excellent to me.Location is very close to VA Conventional Centre, etc.The only thing need to improve is WiFi, WiFi is not stable and super slow to make conference call.In general, I happied to stay at The Capetonian hotel.

My partner and I are regulars at the Sunday Buffet. We called in to make a booking for the Sunday Buffet today 1 Dec 2024 but told it was full and we can do a walk in and sit on the terrace. We didn’t have a problem with it as it is a sunny day and off we went to the restaurant. Upon arrival we made it clear that we didn’t have a booking and that we were told we can do a walk in and sit on the terrace. We were offered a seat and shortly thereafter a female employee came up to us and very rudely asked who we had made the booking with and that the we were taking up the place of a booking. We were very unsettled as firstly we had not seen her before and other waitresses who we have good relations with tried to stop the said employee but she was adamant that we move. We eventually left the restaurant and I was left distraught as we are regulars and really enjoy the food, of the many restaurants in Cape Town to choose from this was definitely my top choice especially the Sunday buffet but after my single experience I have been discouraged from visiting again and would definitely discourage other people from visiting this restaurant as well.

I had booked through Invetec travel and based on their “4star rating” which is according toMy view is a 2 star ,the condition of the rooms very bad ,unclean carpet ,old Airconditioner that make noise ,beds not so great ,cars parked outside no covered parking or basement parking allocated to guest .Went to complain down stairs and no one helped .Do not book here !

THINK ONE MORE TIME!!!18.112024-Today is like a Nightmare for me.I didn't care about the first bug in the Toom 612. Room service collected and cleaned dying bugs and they suggested spraying against the new possible bugs when I was in the room. :))But later in the evening, a second bug started climbing up the wall and even onto the ceiling above the bed, It was made me crazy, although they changed rooms I could not sleep any more.!!! Please keep in mind and remember that the some of rooms were old and neglected, the corridors were dirty, and it was different from the beautiful photos seen in the promotions.

The most upsetting stay I've had in Cape Town. Pubic hair in the bathtub and leaking showers. A manager who could not completely understand what I am telling him because of a language barrier (he does not seem proficient in English). Raised the issue of hair in the bathroom 3 times and only after the 3rd time and a whole day passing it was resolved. The old fashioned furniture is not a bother, but I did not want to sit on it as it did not appear clean. Some wood panels are rotting, quick fixes to wiring evident. I will not return or recommend this hotel to anyone!

Horrible experience. Rooms are old, as only a few have been renovated. Hosted over 20 international delegates, some of whose rooms were forgotten to be serviced daily. Rooms are not soundproofed. You can hear the conversations of rooms next door and the wind howls through gaps in the window panes. Towels aren't big enough to cover anything. Shower leaked. Lighting is poor. TV didn't work (if the rooms even had them). Laundry outsourced and not returned timeously. Safe barely working. Will Absolutely NOT recommend this hotel.

I won't recommend staying here. Room plugs are falling out of the walls. In the evening the room was super noisy from outside noises etc. Breakfast was so slow i wasn't able to have anything and almost everything had onion in it that i am allergic to. I almost got stuck in the lift as well. Not impressed at all.

Always nice staying at the Capetonian. Kudos to 2 ladies. Thandi, 9th floor housekeeping. Great service. Always nice getting a clean room and nice fluffy towels. Chef Evette, the most kind, friendly and amazing chef. Excellent services from both ladies. Well done and thank you kindly 😊🌺

Great place and it works when you want to walk to the waterfront. Carpets in our room were a little dated but its inexpensive so pick your battles. Service was prompt and very nice for extra pillows and there is a nice place to grab a drink across the plaza.

Ive been to the hotel many times. Last year we had a prom and the events food was really top notch. We enjoyed it. I went back again Friday and we had the buffet. The price for the buffet is really good value for money. We had so much to choose from and it was my family's first time there. We would definitely return because u get to try so many things. The buffet has a bit of everything. Very enjoyable. I appreciate that there's a space for salaah as well. Good experience.

Had a stay at The Capetonian this weekend. I had arrived early and the staff seemed annoyed that I did- I eventually asked them to store my luggage.When I got back to the hotel staff did not assist to help with luggage.The breakfast buffet was good fresh and had varietyThe rooms were a bit dusty and not throughly cleaned (only beds were made)Location is safe and centralOverall 3/5. The staff could be more helpful and friendly and rooms could be cleaner. Food 5/5

The room are very old, the carpet smell of dust and had a very bad smell. The buffet is mediocre dessert was also awful. Bad experience of my life!!!

Friendly staff.Very bad condition rooms.Skimpy bedding, no blankets.Lamps and tv not in working condition due to no plugs nearby.Clean but not tidy

Stayed between 4 and 9 September 2024. At first I got a room on the 3rd floor. The room is new and nice. But on the way out of the elevator to the room..it's being renovated. Therefore, there was construction work placed in a mess and it was noisy, so I asked to change to a room on the 8th floor. It was old..but clean and spacious. The bed was big..comfortable and had a view of the Table mountain. I was impressed with the room. Service staff..very attentive, both front and bell boy, general breakfast room. But luckily there is Malaysian food and fried meat. The disadvantage is that the internet signal is unstable and not strong. If this part can be fixed, it will be excellent, giving all five stars. Worth staying, inexpensive, good location, convenient travel, relatively safe. A little more..the last day before returning, the water faucet was broken. The water flowed non-stop. The water couldn't be turned off. Even though I had been using it for several days, it was normal. I notified the technician and they couldn't fix it. So I moved to the next room. I slept well. If anyone comes to Cape Town and is looking for A moderately priced school, I recommend The Capetonian Halaal hotel. Definitely worth it.

The service needs to improve. They renovating and the grinding goes on till 11pm with many ppl complaining. The rooms get cleaned at 5pm when u back from work.The bathroom door handles are not screwed in properly.The breakfast and halaal option is the main plus. The room view from the higher floors are nice.

I booked my parents a special package for this weekend (end August) that included a buffet breakfast and supper.Rooms:- Initially, the room felt a bit cramped. However, after speaking with the manager, they graciously upgraded my parents' accommodation. This gesture was greatly appreciated and made for an exceptionally comfortable stay. We extend our sincere thanks to the manager for this.Service:- The service was exceptional throughout the stay. A minor issue with the tap arose, but room service responded promptly and resolved the matter within minutes. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always eager to help.Buffet/Food:- The buffet was outstanding. Both supper and breakfast offered an extensive variety of delicious options. The food was superb, particularly the prawns, rump steak, garlic naan, and mushrooms. Despite being fully booked, the managers were actively engaging with guests, and the staff were kind enough to serve coffee, tea, and breakfast refills directly to seated guests.Location:- The location is great, within a five-minute drive to the V&A Waterfront.Con:- Only inconvenience was the water temperature. It was hot in the morning, but afternoon/evening got colder or at best luke warm, which meant having to avoid showering in the latter part of the day
