Ive been to the hotel many times. Last year we had a prom and the events food was really top notch. We enjoyed it. I went back again Friday and we had the buffet. The price for the buffet is really good value for money. We had so much to choose from and it was my family's first time there. We would definitely return because u get to try so many things. The buffet has a bit of everything. Very enjoyable. I appreciate that there's a space for salaah as well. Good experience.

Had a stay at The Capetonian this weekend. I had arrived early and the staff seemed annoyed that I did- I eventually asked them to store my luggage.When I got back to the hotel staff did not assist to help with luggage.The breakfast buffet was good fresh and had varietyThe rooms were a bit dusty and not throughly cleaned (only beds were made)Location is safe and centralOverall 3/5. The staff could be more helpful and friendly and rooms could be cleaner. Food 5/5

Stayed between 4 and 9 September 2024. At first I got a room on the 3rd floor. The room is new and nice. But on the way out of the elevator to the room..it's being renovated. Therefore, there was construction work placed in a mess and it was noisy, so I asked to change to a room on the 8th floor. It was old..but clean and spacious. The bed was big..comfortable and had a view of the Table mountain. I was impressed with the room. Service staff..very attentive, both front and bell boy, general breakfast room. But luckily there is Malaysian food and fried meat. The disadvantage is that the internet signal is unstable and not strong. If this part can be fixed, it will be excellent, giving all five stars. Worth staying, inexpensive, good location, convenient travel, relatively safe. A little more..the last day before returning, the water faucet was broken. The water flowed non-stop. The water couldn't be turned off. Even though I had been using it for several days, it was normal. I notified the technician and they couldn't fix it. So I moved to the next room. I slept well. If anyone comes to Cape Town and is looking for A moderately priced school, I recommend The Capetonian Halaal hotel. Definitely worth it.

The service needs to improve. They renovating and the grinding goes on till 11pm with many ppl complaining. The rooms get cleaned at 5pm when u back from work.The bathroom door handles are not screwed in properly.The breakfast and halaal option is the main plus. The room view from the higher floors are nice.

I booked my parents a special package for this weekend (end August) that included a buffet breakfast and supper.Rooms:- Initially, the room felt a bit cramped. However, after speaking with the manager, they graciously upgraded my parents' accommodation. This gesture was greatly appreciated and made for an exceptionally comfortable stay. We extend our sincere thanks to the manager for this.Service:- The service was exceptional throughout the stay. A minor issue with the tap arose, but room service responded promptly and resolved the matter within minutes. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always eager to help.Buffet/Food:- The buffet was outstanding. Both supper and breakfast offered an extensive variety of delicious options. The food was superb, particularly the prawns, rump steak, garlic naan, and mushrooms. Despite being fully booked, the managers were actively engaging with guests, and the staff were kind enough to serve coffee, tea, and breakfast refills directly to seated guests.Location:- The location is great, within a five-minute drive to the V&A Waterfront.Con:- Only inconvenience was the water temperature. It was hot in the morning, but afternoon/evening got colder or at best luke warm, which meant having to avoid showering in the latter part of the day

The buffet breakfast was lovely, with a great selection of tasty food. However, the pancake sizes varied from very big to quite small due to the large crowd. One downside was that we were billed for the full group, even though not everyone attended, which wasn’t communicated upfront. Despite this, we’ll definitely be back to try out the supper buffets.

Went for the Sunday buffet. Food tasted good, there was a variety of curries and other foods and a even bigger variety of desserts. Definitely worth what you pay for. Service was speedy and great. A true capetonian experience in a classy and nice environment.

Honestly, this hotel is mind-blowing. Where should I even start!First, breakfast. Breakfast in Capetonian is so deluxe and gourmet. Incredible chefs, staff and waiters there to help you with whatever you need. Sausages, omelette, fried eggs and so much more!Next, the rooms. The rooms are huge, neat and comfy with TV with YouTube. Comfy beds, sofas... The only problem are the showers. The showers had the temperature option which did work perfectly but there was no hose.And the location is well enough. A bit hidden but safe parking with someone always there to help. The location is near the main tourist sites.Lastly, noise. The noise was fine but 7:30am already hanging with the hammer, building new rooms. Annoying.But generally speaking, amazing!

I loved my stay at the Capetonian.I arrived early to check-in and I was welcomed by the most friendly staff who didn't mind at all that I had arrived early.Nice, quiet, and clean. It is also situated at the most convenient part of Cape Town, shopping and entertainment is not far from The Capetonian.

The room looks nothing like the pictures shared on the internet. The room is in a bad state, dirty in some places. Carpets with stains. Scratches all over the bathroom vanity and desk. Smells bad. I cannot believe it has 4 stars. We asked for additional pillows which we received as there were the tiniest single pillows for each of us. The curtains don't close fully, the toilet seat is loose and the walls have many scuff marks and light switches dirty. Don't think we will return here and we are sorry we paid ahead of time.

Dear Manager,As per the reply you have made on the review I had given regarding our stay in your hotel.The last conversation we had with Supervisor Shaukat was that the GM will discuss the matter and report back to us! This didn't not happen! We were there for a full day waiting information regarding our "missing items".Mr. Shaukat clearly advised us to go report to Police ! We waited to hear back regarding full investigation as we still do have our Items!That did not happen! Check your cameras as this happened in the reception infront of your whole team and my family!Your response is not helpful in any form.Regarding the cockcrach in the bathroom, I had shown the picture to Ms Aneluis at reception and she said they will spray our room!Please do discuss with your team to get your facts right!I don't recommend anyone to stay in your property due to the fact that no security for guest items is available. Camera of footage taken by cleaner is not sufficient nor accurate as that is easily manipulated!Anyone can take a quick video then remove items belonging to guests!I have lost items value of 3800 rand!Still no apology nor any signs of remorse!Is this the way you handle your guest complaints! Very improffesional

I was at the buffet last night me and my family and it wasn't our first time at the buffet we used to love this place but last night was a disappointment 😔 we literally got there first but we weren't seated first they gave our table to other people and we had to sit right at the back where there wasn't even enough space to walk to go and dish up anyway when we got to the curry bowl it was empty...I know its Ramadan and everything but it looked like they were only catering to Muslim people as we were there first but a muslim family were seated before us and at our reserved table ...anyway you guys are very unprofessional we will not be coming back I wish I could give you zero stars

I decided to dine at The Capetonion establishment on the 19 March 2024 with my family and I must admit the dining service was horrible.Upon entering the dining area we met by a senior/supervisor as she was giving instructions and a young African lady. Staff had no Name Tags.We were directed to our table and once we sat down I pointed out that the tables were dirty, sticky and the young African lady even scratch the dirty off the table with her nails and I formed us she'll be back to clean. She never returned.No one come to check on us. Staff are not smiling.Dining table is very outdated, wobbly and had a lot of stains.The potatoes was hard and the buffet was replancend several times.Once the cutlery and juice glass was all used they were not replancend. Most of the in-hiuse and walk-in guest had to ask the restaurant and kitchen staff for cutlery and glasses.Nother senior staff member from the front desk help himself with several plates of desserts and juice while guest were dining.Very disappointed experience for a 4 Star property

Right off the main N2 highway so it was very convenient but prepare to face a very busy main road when you're driving out. Free parking area right outside the back entrance of the hotel with security. Check in was fuss free and service was polite. Superior Double room was decent and clean, but don't expect too much. Room safe was pretty small though, couldn't fit my 15inch laptop. Hotel breakfast buffet was quite limited and standard of food was pretty meh.

For sure it can be much better. The rooms are worn out and need renovation. Rooms are dirty and need proper cleaning. No aircon in the room! The room was beyond very hot. Large flood lights are illuminating the building, which causes a lot of light in the room.The restaurant is old school. The waiters are very noisy discussing and sharing from their private life, which should not take place in a restaurant.The restaurant manager scolding the waiters in public and it was very embarrassing to listen to.All in all a lot of improvement to be done.

The room was big enough but it was a bit cold and not well soundproof..there was also a constant annoying smell like smoke in the room..maybe coming from the ventilator of the bathroom..the bed and the pillows were not so comfy..the water in the shower was cold..it is not worth a 4star title for sure..not value for money..

Coming from The Rockefeller Hotel, The Capetonian was really nothing but a horror show. Standard rooms are devoid of any merits. The smell and filth are beyond explanation.They moved us to level 3. This also didn’t start off great; the smell once you walk out on level 3 is honestly just unhygienic and gives a feeling of a mistake to have booked there.The curtains have stains, and the sliding door to the outside is so old that the wind keeps moving it. I really hope the iconic place can move forward, but the standards must be low if someone thinks this place is 3/5.Regards

Awsome experience,The curry and naan bread was good.The service is actually outstanding,the manager is a gem,the waiters and waitrons are so polite and helpful.The kitchen staff oh my word are just incredible.

Good location when traveling out of the CBD in the morning and returning towards the evening. Mostly against traffic. Great breakfast that's strictly Halaal. The superior rooms are modern and well renovated.

We book one room with a dubbel bed under name N.P Claassen.We arrive at the Hotel front desk. One of the guys ask can he help us en then he ask in front of other guest only one room for you two guys.we said yes then he gave us room 708. We go to the room open the door smell like very very old smoke hanging in the air. We leave it. Then we want to use the toilet and as soon as you flush it it is water . We call the front desk they send the maintenance guy he and fix it but he said don't used it for the hol night other wise it will leak again. That's not all then we want to shower and the shower doesn't work. Then we call the front desk and they said ok they will move us. Then they give us room 410. Very good room no smell and everything good. So now I want to ask is this how they treat gay people in the Cape and not even one person come to us and we are sorry . Now I hope the hole world can read this and that they can see how are you treated in the Cape. Sorry I cant give you any points because you think me and my partner are nothing.

Possibly the worst service ever received in Cape Town. Went for a Sunday coffee in the hopes they would be open. They were but clearly not a popular stop for mid afternoon tea. The coffee was self service from a machine and the waitress could not understand what we wanted to order. It was so surreal we ended up pointing it out to her on the menu. 45 min later and 2 check ups we had still not received our simple order of cheesecake and crepes. As we were about to leave we were informed that the order was ready. It arrived incorrect and we were disappointed with the poor quality of what did arrive. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I can’t understand how this place manages when they are busy let alone when they only have 6 patrons. Would not recommend this place at all.

I did not enjoy this at all. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that there is no Alcohol because the hotel is halal. This I can understand. What I don't understand is that we did not have toilet paper,shower caps,extra towels or even the basic necessity of a scissor in the room.There were two very flat pillows on the bed and they delivered the wrong food in our room. No service was given to take our bags up to our room.The morning breakfast was cornered off outside so we were only allowed to eat inside in the middle of summer with beaming temperature. Not to mention the plastic packet that was laying in the floor between the till and the table closest to the window where the couches were trampled over so many times and still no one picked it up.The kitchen staff were cleaning the glasses that were taken out of the glass dishwasher (that is if they have a manually) at the back where the couches are against the wall opposite the breakfast buffet.Can someone please help assist in why the etiquette of a hotel so highly ranked is doing this? Or did I catch the right place at the wrong time?Ps the lady that was making the omelettes is a legend she is talented at making an omelette and she means for it to taste like she prepared it with care.Sadly I won't ever return here but I really hope in future these suggestions will be taken into consideration.

I give 4 stars only because we did not go down to the restaurant to experience the food and service there.However, from the second we walked in, we were greeted by friendly and very helpful staff.The hotel was very clean and neat. Sadly we only stayed for one night, but immediately felt relaxed when we entered our room, which had a beautiful view of the harbour.The location was perfect and allowed us to travel to the V&A and back without any hassles.I would definitly visit this hotel in future.

Unfortunately, my worst experience in a hotel. The room was not cleaned properly, the bedding and towels are old and the wind was howling through a draft coming from the balcony the entire evening. Neither my husband nor I could sleep on their too hard pillows. The reason I give them one star. The tv in our room had a snowy picture and we ordered in, cold food served without a food cover. Not tasty. The breakfast had a wide variety and was up to 4-star standard, the only good thing I can say about my stay.

The room and WiFi connection are good... One thing bothering me there are somebody working on the other room/elevator.. I cannot sleep due to noisy outside..Foods and staff are also excellent

Stayed here for one night and instantly regretted it.Hotel needs a full revamp especially the bathrooms. Hotel service isn't the greatest.Food was horrible. We had to buy burger king next door.Showers were not hot. Sliding door on the balcony is like a work out trying to open and close.Would not come back nor recommend to anyone.

Thought the food sounded delicious when I read the buffet menu, but it was very average. The menu was just fancy wording. Also there were two big functions who decided to all get up and dish at the same time which meant, us who was just 2 people separate from the functions, had to wait until 50 or even more other people was done dishing before we could go get food. I also saw an elderly couple waiting to go but ended up just having a small plate of starters as they couldn't wait any longer

The place hasn't been kept up to date. Only booked because website said it's elegant and four star. Might have been 4 stat while back but it's certainly dated. Telephone system did not work for the whole time i stayed there. Calling for room service or reception was impossible. Even the room service person who I had to go down to track agreed the hotel standard was slipping having themselves worked there for a number of years. I was promised a room with balcony and that never eventuated. Bathroom door paints chipping. Restaurant staff were friendly.

Thankfully, we only stayed here for one night. This hotel needs a facelift. The rooms clearly haven’t been updates in decades. Everything was reasonably clean and the staff was a bright spot in our stay, but I don’t think the hotel is advertised accurately. It is certainly not at the level of a 4-star hotel. It is 2.5 stars, at best. I’ve stayed in 2-star hotels with nicer rooms.
