The rooms are stunning after the revamp. Breakfast is superb. Reception staff could be a bit more knowledgeable with regards to TV channels. Asked them which channel the Springbok rugby was on. I was told it is on TV. Dining room staff were very friendly.

The buffet was excellent for every meal during our three-night stay. All food served is strictly Halaal, and there was a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. While the rooms are comfortable, they could benefit from an upgrade to achieve a more modern aesthetic. The views of Table Mountain are stunning. I will definitely be returning for another stay and highly recommend this establishment.

I went the Capetonian Friday evening. Compliments to the chefs of the place. Compliments to the staff who were phenomenal last night. Their friendliness and helpfulness was unique and exquisite. I had an amazing time last night at the Capetonian Hotel. The food was amazing and the variety was magnificent. Thank you to all at the Capetonian Hotel.

Great food, great location, friendly staff, well maintained rooms.

However, I would recommend the housekeeping staff to be more meticulous, especially when cleaning the floors of the rooms so that it is more conducive for muslim guests to perform solat ( floors were a bit dusty and some dust/hairballs in the corners from previous guests), and also when replenishing the toiletries and cookies.

The front counter staff and restaurant staff were excellent!

Definitely enjoyed my stay at the Capetonian.

Celebrated my son's 21st birthday and the experience was great. Service was top notch, food was awesome! Staff was very friendly and helpful and I really commend a particular lady that was super helpful in a very busy setting, Maleeka Abdillah; you are amazing! Thank you for your attentiveness while dining there, both you and the chef!!

I stayed at The Capetonian in October 2025 and I was really impressed with the staff, decor details all around the hotel, the dinning area with a big breakfast variety and of course the location, it's about 15mins walk to V&A Waterfront and close to most attractions.
Fellow travellers - I highly recommend this hotel.

We came for a short holiday and conference.
We enjoyed the place.
Reception staff very helpful and friendly.

Luke thanx for a great room with a beautiful view of the Table mountain.
Rooms were clean and extra water was provided when required.
Breakfast was halaal and good variety....

I had a very pleasant stay, made truly memorable by the hotel's exceptional staff. Every team member I interacted with was incredibly kind, polite, and wonderfully patient. They were especially understanding regarding a small mix-up with my late checkout request and handled the situation with such grace, which I deeply appreciated..

The location is absolutely fantastic! It's incredibly convenient for anyone needing to visit nearby government offices or VFS, and it's perfectly situated for exploring the local tourist attractions. I also enjoyed the general layout and feel of my room.

While my stay was positive, I believe the guest experience could be elevated with a bit more attention to deep cleaning in the rooms. Focusing on details like the carpets and ensuring all fixtures feel fresh for each new guest would make the space feel even more welcoming and comfortable...

Overall, it was a great experience, and I would certainly consider staying again, especially because of the wonderful team and prime location.

**Subject: Concerns Regarding Outstanding Balance and Service Experience – Booking for September 30, 2025**

Dear Capetonian Hotel Management,

My name is Shakeerah Abrahams, and I had the pleasure of booking a buffet dinner at your establishment on September 30, 2025, for a group of 17 guests. Overall, the event was enjoyable; however, I am compelled to bring to your attention a concerning issue that marred the experience for my family and guests.

Prior to the event, I ensured that the full payment was completed via email and WhatsApp, and I received confirmation of this. Despite this, I was later contacted by my sister, who informed me that an outstanding balance remained. This was surprising, as I had already settled the entire amount.

On the evening of the event, my sister attempted to pay for our beverages at the table, only to be informed by your waitress that the buffet bill had not been fully paid. This caused her considerable embarrassment in front of her guests, as she was unable to settle her part and was made to feel humiliated. She was also distressed to see her guests' reactions and was upset that the evening's celebration was overshadowed by this issue.

Furthermore, the waitress mentioned that there was a "glitch" in the system, but no further explanation or communication from the hotel was provided. I left the venue feeling disappointed and embarrassed, and this incident also led to a disagreement with my husband upon our return home, as he overheard the exchange.

This experience was particularly disappointing given that it was my first visit to your hotel, and I had high expectations based on the reputation of your establishment. Unfortunately, this incident has left a negative impression, and I am compelled to advise others to exercise caution.

I kindly request a thorough review of this matter, clarification regarding the payment status, and assurance that such incidents will be addressed to prevent recurrence. I look forward to your prompt response and a resolution to this issue.

I’m on the 5th floor, trying to get an early night ahead of a big workshop I’m facilitating tomorrow.
It feels like I’m lying in the middle of a deafening nightclub. Thumping music, ridiculous bass levels.
I called reception to complain. Told there was some event on the SECOND FLOOR!!! I’m on the 5th floor, so I can’t begin to imagine how loud it must be.
This is a business trip.
Such a disappointment from the quality hotel I used to stay at years ago on business.
I definitely will never stay here again.

The Holistic Beauty and Wellness is Amazing. They went the extra mile to make the Massage reservations Amazing and Special. I'm a Happy Customer and I recommend the Beauty and Wellness on the 2nd floor of the Capetonian.

Bad experience, we we mislead by word superior on Agoda, it was highly low class with two room with only one bathroom, which was not mention on site, we were told executive is higher in quality newly renovated, by giving more payment which we did, but the upgrading is also poor but atleast two bathrooms. Although breakfast is good and Halal and has a dedicated Muallah.

Exceptional service from my welcoming food absolutely amazing I need to say a special thank you to a amazing staff called Layla.. You shown what customer service is all about.. You so humble sweet most of all friendly . Been in the customer service industry you made me look deeper as to how I can better myself.. Extrordinary service.. The staff (from reception to concierge, to the dining hall) was great.
The housekeeping was excellent (shout out to Ashley. Girl was very friendly and good mannered). We stayed in room 1112...

My wife was very happy :)...

Professional service oriented staff. Terrific omelet taste and texture ... pancake taste homemade ... hand soap does not lather easily- for a luxury soap there's no pleasant smell. Shampoo and body bath smell was refreshing.

Had a work function there. Not sure if the menu came with the hiring package but the food was standard for me. Typical Sunday kos one would make at a family gathering. For the prime location, considering that CT is a tourists attraction, I expected too much. Lovely staff, clean and neat.

I had a really good time.
The staff were extremely friendly and kind .

They went out of their way to assist.

The security at the lift always made sure to open the loft and keep it open for us before we even reached .

The breakfast buffet was really nice. It had alot of food options. I do think they can improve on the selection of baked good for tea as well as warm drink options for breakfast.

We as seniors had lunch.. Fantastic. Not beatable. But we as seniors would love you to give us a little treat to take home as we don't have the experience of everything.. I still miss my dessert.. That I could have enjoyed when I got home

An unforgettable buffet experience at The Capetonian – truly the best! 👌

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The buffet was absolutely impressive — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. From the hot dishes to the cold salads, every item was well-prepared and delicious.

What stood out most was the variety — something for everyone! From juicy grilled meats to perfectly spiced curries, fresh baked breads, and decadent desserts. Everything was halal, which made it even more special for me. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to assist without being intrusive.

The ambiance was peaceful, and the setup was clean and elegant — ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. I’ve been to many buffets in Cape Town, but this one truly stood out in terms of both service and food quality.

Highly recommended! Will definitely be back, In Shaa Allah. 🌙🍽️

The hotel is getting renovated (until August 2025 as they said) so expect loud construction noises throughout the day. The rooms themselves are extremely dated, with dilapidated furniture. Plugs are really hard to get to, and the phone in my room didn’t work, so if I wanted anything I had to go all the way down to the reception!
The breakfast is very mid, and the lady making prathas seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else.

Location of the hotel was easy to reach, we were a group of 59 hosting a Farewell of our dear colleague. We had a great time and the buffet was out of this world. Staff were very friendly however the waiters were not so visible on the floor. Thank you very much ☺️🥰

My husband and i recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible hotel, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, inviting and effortlessly elegant. Our room was a peaceful sanctuary, cozy and comfortable. We appreciated the small touches, and a panoramic view that was unforgettable. The culinary experience was a delightful dinner buffet and a indulgent breakfast, each delicatesse well crafted and beautifully presented. What really made our stay exceptional , was the impeccable service. The staff made us feel valued and cared for, friendly, attentive and eager to make our stay special. Always good to stay at the Capetonian. It is conveniently situated in the heart of the city and has great service. They are currently busy with renovation. Instead that is done, the rooms will be great. Not that there is a problem with the rooms, some might find it a bit dated.
